Elevate Your Mind: Strategies to Boost Your IQ

You've all seen the cheesy poster "The World is Your Oyster." What does that even mean? I can name many quotes I know that didn't hold any value to me until I discovered how visualization and the subconscious mind connect. It's not just about repeating affirmations or staring at vision boards; it's about truly understanding the power of your mind. When you harness this power, you can unlock potential you never knew you had. Let's dive into how you can elevate your IQ and transform your life. First, Let's understand the main concepts you need to understand to make visualizations work for you.

The Subconscious Mind: The subconscious mind is a powerful force that influences our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. It operates below the level of conscious awareness, storing memories, beliefs, and experiences. By tapping into the subconscious mind through visualization and affirmations, we can reprogram our thought patterns and achieve our goals.

Left and Right Brain and Visualization: The brain is divided into two hemispheres, each responsible for different functions. The left brain is associated with logical thinking, analysis, and language, while the right brain is linked to creativity, intuition, and visualization. By engaging both hemispheres through visualization exercises, we can enhance our cognitive abilities and improve problem-solving skills.

The Power of Visualization: Visualization is a mental technique that involves creating vivid images in the mind to achieve specific outcomes. When we visualize our goals and dreams, we activate the subconscious mind and align our thoughts with our desires. This process can lead to increased motivation, focus, and confidence. Even if the images we create don't hold immediate significance, they can still influence our subconscious and drive us toward success.

Remember that "The World Is Your Oyster" poster your third-grade teacher pinned to the wall? At the time, it might have seemed like just another cheesy quote. But here's the thing: your subconscious mind was soaking it all in like a sponge. Even if you didn't fully understand it, the message was quietly influencing your thoughts and beliefs. It's like planting a seed in your mind that grows over time. Every time you saw that poster, it reinforced the idea that you have limitless potential. So, while you were busy learning multiplication tables and spelling bees, your brain was also being subtly programmed to believe in your own possibilities. Pretty cool, right?

Think about those little "Loading..." icons you see every day on your devices. Whether it's waiting for a webpage to load, a video to buffer, or an app to open, these spinning circles and progress bars are everywhere. While they might seem insignificant, they actually have a subtle impact on our patience and expectations. Over time, these visuals train our brains to expect instant gratification and can make us more impatient when things don't happen immediately. It's a small but powerful example of how everyday visuals can shape our behavior and mindset.

Think about those "Battery Low" notifications you see on your phone or laptop. They pop up at the most inconvenient times, right? But beyond the annoyance, these little alerts are actually training your brain to prioritize and manage your time better. When you see that notification, you instinctively start wrapping up tasks, saving your work, or finding a charger. It's a small visual cue that has a big impact on how you handle your daily activities and stay productive.

Just like those posters and notifications that subtly influence our thoughts and behaviors, you can create your own visuals to harness the power of your subconscious mind. Start by designing images with positive affirmations, motivational quotes, or goals you want to achieve. Use bright colors and eye-catching designs to make them stand out. Print these visuals and place them in areas where you'll see them frequently, such as your workspace, bedroom, or even on your fridge. By consistently exposing yourself to these positive messages, you'll reinforce your goals and aspirations, helping you stay focused and motivated. Or you can use Google Images and Pinterest to search for motivational content and print pre-made visuals. I personally find making my own to be more effective, but if you want to test the theory, print one out and put it next to your bed. See if you end up adapting to that poster after a month or so of seeing it every day.

I used Microsoft Co-Pilot to create my own visual. Feel free to print it out!
